Edventurer is for home-educated children aged 7–11.

No. Edventurer is a part-time tuition hub for home-educating families. We offer tuition in Maths, Science and Oracy through a project-based approach that also develops transferable skills.

Children attend 1 day a week as part of their wider home education. Parents remain responsible for ensuring their child receives a suitable full-time education.

Yes. Edventurer is a drop-off provision, with children supervised throughout the day, including during learning sessions, snack and lunch breaks. All adults working with children have enhanced DBS checks.

Two qualified primary teachers will deliver the day-to-day teaching. They each have 20+ years of broad teaching experience across international and independent schools, mainstream education and tutoring. In particular, they have experience in dialogic teaching and inquiry-based learning, which are core to the Edventurer approach.

The programme is enriched by visiting specialists who bring real-world experience in particular subjects.

This programme was founded and designed by Bechir, who has a background in research, AI and entrepreneurship. For the past 9 years, he has worked in startups and developed and delivered entrepreneurship programmes helping aspiring entrepreneurs and academics turn ideas into new products and ventures, with experience at a London Venture Capital firm and in partnership with the UK Government’s Research and Innovation agency.

Driven by a passion for education and social impact, he designed this programme with his own child in mind — to give children the real-world learning and skills they need to solve the problems of tomorrow, navigate uncertainty and make a positive contribution to the world.

Bechir holds Master’s degrees in Physics, Engineering and Robotics and has conducted neuroscience research at Harvard and UCL.

Our tuition focuses on the core academic areas of the National Curriculum: Maths, Science and English (Oracy). Our teaching is inquiry and project-based and mapped to relevant areas of the National Curriculum.

We do not offer or cover a broad National Curriculum.

Our main focus is on oracy — speaking, listening, discussion and presenting with confidence. Children also read and write as part of their investigations and projects.

We don’t teach phonics, spelling or grammar as part of the programme.

Children will get the most from a Learning Adventure if they are reading fluently.

We welcome enquiries from families of children with SEND. We discuss each child’s individual needs with their family to understand whether Edventurer can meet their needs.

We track progress through observation, children’s work, and questions and tasks tailored to each child, with a focus on depth of understanding.

Parents receive a summary report at the end of each Learning Adventure.

Children bring their own lunch, a snack and a refillable water bottle. Lunch can be hot or cold and water can be refilled on site. We encourage healthy eating.
